  1. Destroying the health insurance industry is an accidental good effect.

Employer-paid tax-subsidized health insurance has caused enormous inflation in medical costs. Running the insurance providers out of the business and forcing providers to go completely free market would be the best possible result.

    1. The best thing that could happen would be to use the healthcare.gov site (when it works) as a true free market exchange, rather than a place to choose between three different government approved plans. That is the only silver lining in my mind, if the Republicans get back in power, to use the infrastructure to implement fully free market reforms - very costly law to just get a little website at the end of it all

  2. One cheap way to buy small silver coins is to buy junk silver dimes. A roll of 50 usually costs around $150.

    1. Listen to the DTU podcast on buying gold and silver. Best by for your money are silver war nickels. I also like Kennedy half dollars from 1964, because they are likely to not have been circulated much and are thus full weight (didn't mention this in the podcast).

    2. 40% silver is a bit hard to explain to someone you are trying to buy something from. I prefer dimes and quarters, personally. But I'm sure they are a bargain.

A local coinshop sells $10 face value bags of junk silver ( no dollars ). In the past I just bought one every few weeks, and then filled tubes with the randoms coins.

These days I'm buying Silver Eagles and Gold Buffalos.
